Invasion of the Cicadas

Dave Petti

This is the year for the Cicadas to take over Lake county.  They are scheduled to come into town around May/June when the soil temperatures raise above 64 degrees.   The last time they invaded Lake county was back in 1999, hmm, maybe they want to party like its 1999 again?

Cicadas do not bite and are harmless to humans and pets.  They come to town, make a huge mess and move on.  Their numbers have declined due to our changing environment,  so maybe if you are lucky you won’t even see them.

If you miss them, you will have to wait another 17 years.
